Covid-19 ‘here for you’ telephone service for the Reading community

Following the COVID-19 outbreak, we are aware that many members of our local community might be in self-isolation and feeling lonely, need support with practical issues, and feel concerned about the future and loved ones. In response, we have launched a telephone service for anyone in need of support, whether they have housing or homelessness issues or not. While we are unable to provide resources such as food packages and our staff aren’t trained counsellors, we can signpost to services in the Reading area and offer a listening ear at a difficult time.

We are currently able to offer support from 10.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. Please call us on 0118 929 1111 or email

Drop-in service – no longer face-to-face but offering telephone and email support

If you have a housing or homelessness issues and need support, we are asking that you call 0118 929 1111 or email from 10.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday.

Our drop-in service for anyone in need of housing information or support will not currently be seeing clients face-to-face, and we will not be providing outreach as per our usual schedule at CIRDIC or Probation.

Please note, if a Launchpad member of staff has cold or flu symptoms, they are being asked to self-isolate for 14 days.

Supported housing and floating support

If you need support, we are asking that you call 0118 929 1111 or email from 10.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday.

If you have any cold or flu symptoms or you have been diagnosed with Coronavirus, please let your support worker know as soon as possible.

We can offer you support via telephone or email, and help with practical issues if you are self-isolating.

Please note, if a Launchpad member of staff has cold or flu symptoms, they are being asked to self-isolate for 14 days.

Activities for clients

We are suspending our activities – such as sewing, art and ETE hub – to protect our clients, staff, volunteers and the community. All clients will be contacted directly to notify them of the cancellations and will be made aware when activities are reinstated.

Contacting our non-support teams

Launchpad staff who do not directly support clients have been asked to work from home from 23 March 2020. The following departments are contactable via email during this time – Marketing and Fundraising, HR, Finance, Volunteering and Activities.

We currently have no requirements for new volunteers, and are asking current volunteers and students on placement to not attend the office and carry out their role at this present time. All volunteers will be sent communications via email from Launchpad’s volunteer manager, and alerted when the situation changes.
