Housing Manager

Full Time.  Salary circa £32,500 per annum depending on skills and experience.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Housing Manager ensures that all Launchpad properties are managed efficiently and are at maximum occupancy levels to reduce homelessness in Reading and ensure that income collection is properly controlled.

Managing and motivating a team of 6 Housing Officers, Income and Accounts Officer and Maintenance Officers, the Housing Manager is responsible for their training and development ensuring good two-way communication. The postholder is also responsible for ensuring that legal / statutory / good practice requirements are maintained. This post also has responsibility for proactively ensuring good Customer Service, incorporating tenants’ views in all service delivery.

Coupled with your experience of dealing with tenants in a supported housing environment and of managing arrears and successfully achieving arrears targets, you will also have experience of managing maintenance and property stock conditions. Your extensive knowledge of Housing Law in Supported Housing, combined with different types of tenancy, including licence agreements will enable you to confidently lead your team ensuring the effective delivery of your service. Strong IT and organisational skills are very important, as are your attention to detail and ability to analyse and interpret data to improve the service continuously and to react responsively and creatively to matters that arise. You will be educated to A-Level standard and ideally hold a Charted Institute of Housing qualification, or equivalent experience.

Launchpad Removals Officer

Part Time 16-20 hours per week.  Salary circa £20,000 FTE per annum depending on skills and experience.

One of Launchpad’s special projects is to provide a removals, clearance and carriage service. Supported by a team of volunteers you will work closely with sponsors, supporters, clients and customers to provide an effective service and be actively involved in the removals service we are offering our clients. This will involve lifting and manoeuvering heavy items. Additional tasks include supporting other projects and events associated with Launchpad.

If you have removals experience this will be an advantage but above all you are passionate about helping others. You have sound customer service skills and a high level of physical fitness. Combined with your physical strength, you also have good levels of literacy and numeracy (minimum GCSE standard), and computer skills in MS Office. Your flexible and responsive approach will enable you to manage the differing aspects of this role. You must hold a full valid driving licence, including Class C.
