Volunteering

Imran with Pigeons

Local volunteers are an essential part of Launchpad. Volunteering work is rewarding, challenging and varied. It offers supportive and reliable relationships to people who would otherwise be socially isolated. Volunteers often provide people with a new direction in life; open up new opportunities to try different activities and most importantly improve confidence and self-esteem. Volunteering should be a positive experience for everyone involved. Launchpad is committed to providing our volunteers with complete support, training, supervision and regular feedback. All volunteers’ hours are accredited.

The role of the volunteer is to support Launchpad clients and promote independence and community integration. Volunteers work with clients who can benefit most from their skills and experience, promoting self-esteem, confidence and trust.   Launchpad asks each volunteer to make a minimum weekly commitment of two hours per week. Most volunteering opportunities take place between 9am and 5pm, but there may be some weekend and evening options.
