Preventing Homelessness in Reading

Reading Half Marathon

Sage Reading Half Marathon, Sunday 18 March 2018

The Reading Half Marathon is the town’s biggest athletic event, and it’s also an excellent fundraising opportunity. Every year we’re lucky enough to have supporters who choose to run and fundraise for Launchpad.

This year we have 70 runners taking part in the Sage Reading Half Marathon and fundraising for Launchpad. 35 from Bottomline Technology, five interns and five staff from Covance, a team of three from the University College of Estate Management, a team of nine from Peter Brett Associates along with individual runners, Lou, Mark, Becki, Kristian, Johnny, MP Matt Rodda, Ady, Dipesh, Matt, Patrick and Launchpad volunteers J0, Amy and Charlotte.

Last year we had 14 runners running and fundraising for Launchpad. Collectively they raised over £2,000!

Adam was one of our runners in 2016 and he raised over £1,000. Read about his brush with homelessness and why he chose to support Launchpad here.

Official Charity Partner Green Park Royal Berks 10K, Sunday 20 May 2018

Green Park Royal Berkshire 10K, Sunday 20 May 2018

We’re lucky enough to be the official charity partner of the Green Park Royal Berkshire Reading 10K. In 2017 we had 18 runners including our Patron Lord Carnarvon. Plus 6 year old Oscar running his first race the mini mile and 9 year old Lucie running 3K, both fundraising for Launchpad too. It was a beautiful sunny day and our runners raised over £12,000.

We also had a team 20 race volunteers who got involved without the need to run and worked super hard on the drink stations along the route and at the end of the race.

If you’d like to run for us in 2018 we offer you a free place, a Launchpad running vest and a banana and bottle of water at the end of the run, in return for raising a minimum of £75 in sponsorship.

If you’d like to join our running or marshalling team in 2018 please get in touch by emailing
