Reading’s Broad St Pancake Race

Our annual Pancake Race in the centre of town

Huntswood Pancake Race Reading’s annual pancake race in Broad Street was an eggs-traordinary event. The race has been running for over 20 years in the centre of town. This year 26 teams from local businesses battered it out in freezing but sunny conditions, egged on by cheering crowds of hundreds of spectators.

Best Fancy Dress was won by Huntswood for their eggscellent pancake inspired costumes which included a giant whisk and carton of milk!

The Team Spirit Award was won by Calcot Services for Children, for the second year running, for raising over £500 in fundraising for Launchpad.

Blandy and Blandy battered it out to win the final… it was close, and were crowned winners of the Launchpad Pancake Race 2016. Vodafone were runners up with Field Seymour Parkes in third place.

We raised over £2,500 through entry fees, a bucket collection on the day and teams including Davis Tate, Blandy and Blandy, Huntswood, Vodafone, RSSL, Microsoft and Calcot Services for Children setting up Just Giving pages and collecting donations.
